Put my BMW f11 up for diagnosis. Was as suspected dual mass flywheel. Gearbox was disassembled for diagnosis so 700 to put back together if I wanted to go elsewhere. Got clutch and dmf fitted for 2.400 after discount which is fair enough as BMW repairs at dealers are always pricey. Here was the problem, car was away for 12 days and somewhere in between seagulls had messed on the car (and in all that warm sunshine the car had sat about getting it baked on) , roof ,bonnet especially. When got car home washed car and found bird mess had eaten into top coat of roof and bonnet. Contacted BMW as car was directly under CCTV . Got impression not bothered but would have a look, but as I am 1.5 hours away thought they would pull out the stops, which they didn't. Anyway got a local car paint shop to fix the damage at a cost of 820.No follow up calls from BMW on customer satisfaction . Not surprising really considering waited over an hour to get run to train station when dropped car off and made train by seconds! I always used Calderdon in past and they were excellent in all departments. Harry Fairburn has a lot to learn in customer service satisfaction. It genuinely was the worst car garage experience from start to finish in over 30 years. If I could give zero stars I would , it was that bad.
